Remember who you are!

Remember who you are !

A few years ago, as I was sitting at home, I watched a Walt Disney film
called ” The Lion King “. In one scene, the main character-Simba fights
through the thicket and pasted the darkness. As he stops by a pool of
water and then looks up a voice calls to him as if from the stars above,
” Simba you have forgotten who you are? Remember who you are !
Remember who you are !”
Simba was a king ! However, because of some traumatic experience in
his past, he was trying to forget this by running away. He did not want to
face up to the awesome responsibilities of his calling and did not want to
go back because of what other people may think of him. He never
imagined that he would be given another chance.
My friend I see this happening all the time in Christian circles. People who
are called to do something, often stay away, all because of something that
has happened in the past. This always seems to do with unforgiveness.
I have to ask this question; Why is it that God can forgive and restore, yet
some people can`t? I remember reading this statement from an American
man in Georgia who said to John Wesley, “I never forgive.” and Wesley
said to him, `I hope you never sin.`
The enemy takes great delight when people are put to one side. It just means
another soldier in the army of the Lord is down. But my friend my I
encourage you to remember who you are.
It was not man that called you to serve, but God!
It was not man that set you apart for His Kingdom, but God
It was not man that made you a king to reign, but God.
Remember who you are!
It maybe hard to fight through the thicket of  the dark times, but as we
do so and turn to God, we find His forgiveness, His restoration.
You are called of God, the Bible says in Romans 11:29 (NIV) ” for
God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable “.
Remember who you are, in God. You are a child of God, saved, washed
and set apart for God.
The Bible says this in 1 Peter 1 v 18 to 19 ”  For you know that it was not
with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from
the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with
the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”
Remember who you are!
Remember what you have been saved from.
Remember that you`re living for a purpose.
God is a God of restoration, you`re a king in Christ Jesus.
Look to the heavens and hear those words being spoken to you today,
” Remember who you are”
Its time for you to take up the baton once more, and go for God with
all you have.
Remember who you are!
God bless you my friend, Matthew.
