Zechariah 4:3 (Amplified Bible) ~ …and there are two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl and the other upon the left side of it feeding it continuously with oil.

I love that phrase, “feeding it continuously with oil.” It describes an ever-flowing outpouring of oil keeping the gold lamp stand burning. God’s desire is to feed you continuously with oil, an ever-flowing outpouring of oil. However, we limit it by our limited surrender to Jesus.

God gives you the oil to keep you burning brightly, to keep you burning with the fire and passion of the Holy Spirit, so that your lamp stand is always on fire for God.

You are called to be a light in the darkness, to shine like a star in the universe, to bring the Light of His glorious gospel to the world, to burn brightly with a zeal and passion for the things of God and to be continuously full of oil, without limit. The Bible says in Psalm 45:7 (Darby Translation), “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated wickedness; therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy companions.” The Bible also says in Psalm 23:5 (NIV), “You have anointed my head with oil and my cup over flows.”

God wants to feed you, not only continuously, but He wants your cup to overflow with His oil. It is time to trim your candle stick and make yourself spiritually ready to receive more from God, to clear out the things in your life that stop you from burning brightly with fire and flame of the Holy Spirit.

My friend, in our text from today is a precious promise from God; He wants to feed you continuously with His oil so your lamp-stand will forever burn brightly with the flames of the Holy Spirit.

God bless you my friend, Pastor Matthew.

  1. How lovely to arrive home to this beautiful message. And today I have been singing “Give me oil in my lamp” as one of a huge mix of songs at a care home. Many sang along….I don’t know their religious beliefs… I am only the singer! but they sang with genuine happiness. Bless you for your messages. Mandy
