Psalm 100:2 (KJV) ~ Serve the LORD with gladness.

One of the ways in which you can worship God is in your service unto Him. Serving God should be something which is done with a willing heart full of joy, not grudgingly done as act of unwilling labor, but rather with a overflowing heart of love, gladness and adoration.

Willing service is done with love, which is birthed from a tender-loving relationship. Your service is not done with the coldness of a mechanical heart. Moreover, it is done in, and by, a willing spirit of gratitude and promoted by love.

When you aspire to have a Christ-like attitude of serving God and one another, you honor God and become a blessing unto Him through your service, as the Bible says in Ephesians 6:7 (NIV), “Serve wholeheartedly.” You do not serve the Lord with a mundane, mediocre or apathetic approach, but rather, it is one which aspires to serve the Lord with an excellence in your everyday life and ministry before Him. The Bible says in Acts 13:36(NIV) that David had served God’s purpose in his own generation. May you also serve the purpose of God in your generation, wholeheartedly with gladness and joy.

The Bible says in Mark 10:43 (NIV), “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant. Martin Luther King once said, “If you ever want to be great in the Kingdom of God , then learn to serve, that way everyone can be great, because everyone can serve.” Mark 10: 45 (NIV) For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Jesus is the greatest servant of all, the prefect example of how to serve God with gladness.

My friend, may everyday in every way you learn to serve God and one another as Jesus did. As you do so, do it wholeheartedly, and serve Him with gladness and joy all the days of our life.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
