Nahum 1:7 (NIV) The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.

The Lord is good. In the simplest of terms, the prophet Nahum starts this verse with a very positive, leading introduction about the Lord, yet at the same time, a note of soft, of sweet music, amid the thunder of Divine power, falling most refreshingly upon the ear of the hearer.

The Lord is good. May His resplendent rays of grace, of mercy and tender loving-kindness, shine from heaven upon you. May His goodness follow you all the days of your life.

The Lord is good. He only has good things for you. The desire of His heart is to bless you, to keep you safe, to provide for you, to prosper you and shower you with His bounty, to open the windows of heaven so His blessing will pour incessantly from above, over and into your life.

The Lord is good. He is a refuge in times of trouble. Where can you find help in our time of need? From the Lord, who is a refuge in times of trouble, a place of safety, a place where you know the covering of His protection, and underneath are the everlasting arms of an Almighty God. He is your Rock of ages, in whom you take refuge, a place where no harm will befall you.

The Lord is good. He cares for those who trust in Him. How Nahum pours out these words with such adoration to the Lord, with such feeling, and such confidence. Only someone who knows His Divine care and tenderness of the Lord, someone who has experienced, first-hand, the loving, caring side of his heavenly ABBA Father, can speak such words. God cares for you; He wants you to know in Him you will find a safe place of refuge, where His blessings for your limitless.

Everyday God is watching over you, He is looking for ways in which to care for you, to show you His great love for you.

My friend, don’t not just meditate on this verse but draw strength from it, experience and live in the amazing truth, of Nahum 1:7 (NIV) The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
