John 1:16 (MSG), “We all live off his generous bounty, gift after gift after gift.”

In these times of the, “global credit crunch”, it is heart-warming to know, that God’s bounty and His blessings are never lacking, nor will they ever come to a halt. He loves to lavish His people with His goodness; He loves to bless them with His bounty. For God is a faithful God.

The Hebrew word for bounty is, “tub”, meaning, “best, goodness, quality, prosperity, joy, gladness and blessings”.

He loves to open the windows of heaven and pour out such blessings, which are so countless in number.

Indeed, if truth be told, we have all received one blessing after another from our heavenly Father, much more than tongue could ever tell.

There are two absolutely, amazing verses of scriptures from the Bible, which can be found tucked away in the Old Testament.

Almost like hidden treasure just waiting to be found, gems of beauty, pearls of wonder, waiting to be discovered.

When we read the Bible, we find the scriptures are our inexhaustible textbook, the Lord Jesus as our boundless subject, and the Holy Spirit our divine, infinite helper, who opens up the word of God to us, that we may know the riches of His grace towards us; His people whom He loves, with an everlasting love.

The Bible says in Jeremiah 31:12 (NIV), “They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion ; they will rejoice in the bounty of the LORD— the grain, the new wine and the oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-watered garden, and they will sorrow no more”.

Then again, we read in Jeremiah 31:14 (NIV), “‘I will satisfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my bounty,’ declares the LORD.”

My friend, His generosity and His bounty are clearly evident in the overwhelming and colossal way in which He pours out His blessings upon us, in gift after gift after gift.

Furthermore, He gave us the greatest gift of all; He blessed us with the gift of salvation, which can be found in Christ Jesus…Jesus, who is our Savior, our Baptizer in the Holy Spirit, our Healer and our coming King! God’s bounty for us is found in Jesus Christ, as our text for today says in John 1:16 (MSG), “We all live off his generous bounty, gift after gift after gift”.

God bless you my friend, Pastor Matthew.
