Jude 1:20 (NIV) ~ But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.

As often as possible, pray in the Holy Spirit. Use your gift of praying in tongues to talk to God and edify yourself. In Acts 2:4, the early disciples were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues as the Spirit enabled them. The Apostle Paul says this in 1 Corinthians 13:1 (NIV), “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels.” Speaking in the Holy Spirit is a heavenly language, a gift from God.

Let the words that flow from praying to God in the Holy Spirit flow like a never-ending stream. Spend time just praying before the LORD, in the Holy Spirit, who helps us. When we do not know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit will help us.

When you pray in the Holy Spirit something special happens, the limits are taken off. You can experience new heights as your spirit soars, lifted up high in the Lord. As you pray in the Holy Spirit and ask him to help you understand God’s word more and more, he will open up the Scriptures to you with wisdom and revelation knowledge, so that the eyes of your heart may be opened to see more of Jesus. The Bible says in John 16:14 (NIV), “He (The Holy Spirit) will bring glory to me by taking what is mine and making it known to you.”

Praying in the Holy Spirit can bring you closer to God. Praying in the anointing of God breaks every yoke. We are born-again of the Spirit of God, but we all need to be baptized with the fire of the Holy Spirit. Praying in the Holy Spirit is a spiritual way of building yourself up. But we never substitute our time praying in the Holy Spirit from reading God’s word or doing His will, they must always walk hand-in-hand. By spending time praying in the Holy Spirit may we experience more of the gifts of the Holy Spirit from the overflow of His throne.

My friend, our text for today says Jude 1:20 (NIV), “But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.” Let us therefore spend more time in reading God’s word, spending time with Jesus and praying in the Holy Spirit so we can build ourselves up in the most holy faith for the glory of God. May the Holy Spirit empower us and burn within us a deeper desire to go into all the world with gospel of Jesus Christ.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
