Psalm 139: 7 to 8 (NIV) ~ Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths of “Sheol hades” (depths of hell), you are there.

So many people run away from God. They turn their back on Him and try to blame God, in some way, for all the “bad” things that have happened to them. Some people find love in all the wrong places, some try to find comfort in the bottom of a bottle, or even worse, from a syringe full of drugs. Some have even turned to the occult in search of some spiritual experience rather than turn to the true and living God. Some people have even turned to worshiping created things and man-made idols, rather than the Creator who is forever to be praised. Others have run away from God and have simply “had enough” of people who claim to be Christians in name only, but by their words and actions have proved otherwise. Others blatantly rebel out of sheer disobedience to God.

However, no matter where they go to, to try and hide from the Lord, He is there. In the depths of their despair, God is there. Even at the lowest point in their lives, God is there. Even if they make their bed in the door way of an old building or a cardboard box, God is there. Even if they think they can hide in the bottom of a den, or a secret place in the mountains, or in the darkest forest, God is there.

Psalm 139:11 to 12 (NIV) says this, “If I say, ‘Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,’ even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.” No matter where you go, you cannot hide from God. He loves you!

The old gospel song says this,

The love of God is greater far, than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star, and reaches to the lowest hell;
The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win;
His erring child He reconciled, and pardoned from his sin.

Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above, would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.

My friend, God loves you! It matters not to Him where you have been or what you have done, for there is forgiveness, and reconciliation waiting for you. There is a pardon for your past. The Bible says in Isaiah 1:18 (KJV), ’Come now, and let us reason together’, saith the LORD: ‘though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.’”

Jesus paid it, all to Him I owe,

Sin had left a guilty stain, He washed it white as snow.

God loves you. He knows the pain, suffering and rejection that you have gone through. God knows the hurts that you have felt and He knows all about your past. There is nowhere you can hide from the Lord, yet in the midst of it all, God still loves you!

Today, why not let the Lord come into your life. Let the pure and holy love of God, help you in your every day life. God loves you, so very, very much. Wherever you are right now, why not call out to the Lord in prayer, for God loves you.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
