Deuteronomy 33:27 (AMP) ~ The eternal God is your refuge and dwelling place.

In the natural, many people dwell in a house, a place where there is shelter from the winds and wild elements, a place of warmth, security, safety, provision, a refuge, healing and a haven for our soul. It is place where you rest in peace, a place where your feel comfortable and wanted. A man’s home is the place where his affections are centred. Ultimately, it is a place where love dwells.

The Bible tells us that the Israelites wandered through the dessert until they crossed over into the Promised Land. Even though they lived in tents, their dwelling was not a natural one, but a supernatural one, for as the Bible says in Psalm 90:1 (KJV), “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.” Therefore, the same can be said of us today, even though we wander in this land, we do not dwell in it. Yes, you may point out that we have a roof over our heads; however, spiritually we have our dwelling place in the Lord. It is where our heart belongs.

The Bible says in Psalm 84:1 (NIV), “How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty!” The whole Psalm just draws you into worship and praise unto the Lord, to give praises with a grateful heart, in the house where loves dwells. There is birthed within us, as newborn babes in Christ, until our final breath in this world and our first in heaven, a desire to live constantly in the presence of God, and to dwell within His house, to learn of Him and follow His example for Kingdom living. As we do so, let us enjoy the blessing of Psalm 23:6 (AMP), “Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days, the house of the Lord and His presence shall be my dwelling place.”

My friend, let us make the Lord our dwelling place. Let us invite Jesus Christ into our lives and follow Him. Then, when we make that commitment to follow Him, this is what Jesus says will happen…John 14:23 (NIV), “Jesus replied, ‘If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him’”…our home will be their dwelling. And again, in Ezekiel 37:27 (NIV), “My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.” His people who will daily know the blessings of being in, and dwelling in, God, His presence and His peace. So now, we can say as the children of Israel , “And in God’s house forever more my dwelling place shall be.”

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
