Isaiah 55:10 to 11 (KJV) ~ For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

God’s word is full of purpose. The picture that these verses of Scripture paint is of a God who is faithful to His promise. Notice if you will the beginning of verse 10, here we see that something is sent to fulfill a purpose; first of all rain, and then the snow. In every season of the earth, God is always providing. His intent and purpose is to nourish, bless and prosper you in every season of your life.

Now let’s go a little bit deeper. When the word of the Living God is sent from heaven, it is sent to achieve the purpose for which it was sent. It will not return to God empty, but it will prevail, it will overcome and it will be victorious. God is a God of purpose and a God who likes to see His word accomplish His desire.

Let us now go deeper still, notice the power of the word of God. Nothing on this earth will ever stop God’s word from accomplishing His desire; nothing will stop the word of God from prospering, growing and achieving the purpose for which God sent it to do. The Bible says in Acts 19:20 (KJV), “So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” Although the seed of God’s word given to you may seem so small, it will grow, it will prevail, it will overcome and it will be victorious. Furthermore, when God has sent a promise for your life from heaven, He will see to it that His word over your life will be accomplished.

My friend, hold fast to His word, believe in the power of His promise. God is a God of plan, of purpose and of promise. Once more, let us be encouraged from our text for today in Isaiah 55:10 to 11 (NIV), “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”  God is a faithful God, who will honor His word and keep His promise just for you.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
