Isaiah 54:2 (NIV) ~ Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.

The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine airliner manufactured by the European corporation Airbus, a subsidiary of EADS. The largest passenger airliner in the world, the A380 made its maiden flight on 27 April 2005 from Toulouse, France, and made its first commercial flight on 25 October 2007 from Singapore to Sydney with Singapore Airlines. The aircraft was known as the Airbus A3XX during much of its development phase, but the nickname “super-jumbo” has since become associated with it. Only a very few number of airports in the world can accommodate the “Super-jumbo A380”, as they have extended their runway for it to land and take off from. They wanted to expand and make plans for bigger and better things. They looked to the future and made preparations for greater things ahead.

Christians, likewise, should plan for bigger things in God; plan for victory, plan for a greater development and plan to extend our tent cords to take in more of God. They should prepare for bigger and better things in God. They should make preparations in their hearts to extend and stretch their faith, enlarging their spiritual tents to believe God for the big; or the “super-jumbo” things to happen.

Make plans for bigger things to happen,

Make plans for greater things to happen,

Make plans for your spiritual man to extend,

And make plans to enlarge your tent pegs.

My friend, if we never make plans for bigger dreams to land and take off from our runway of faith, then how can we expect to grow in God? How can we expect to let the jumbo dreams that God has for us come to pass, if we do not make room for them to land? Let us not hinder the blessing of God by our earthly limitations, because of our small earthly-minded thinking (small runways for landing and taking off), but let us be open to a bigger faith runway for bigger dreams to land and take off into new heights in God.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.

  1. How true. We have a great God but we are pigmy Christians. Growing is painful and uncomfortable. Instead we prefer to wade in the shallow water rather dive into the big ocean called a life in Christ. Have not our Lord said, ‘the things you see me do, you can do and much more?’ We live in holy terror everyday, afraid that we might lose our jobs, our homes and our little lives. As a child, our grandmother used to frighten us by telling us the gods are offended. Somehow her gods gets offended very easily. When I heard the gospel of ‘fear not, I bring good news…’ I knew that sealed it for me. Today be prepared for greatness in God. He expects nothing less!
