Romans 4:20 to 21 (NIV) ~ Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

Now, there is a word to get your teeth into today and chew over. It is a meaty word, full of substance and meaning. Abraham did not doubt, nor did he become unsteady, or hesitant, neither did he let his belief in the promise of God even flicker or flinch, for he was fully persuaded that God could make the impossible, in the eyes of natural man, possible.

Abraham took God at His word and in his heart he had already received the promise, and was strengthen in his faith because he believed in God. Not only did he believe in God, but he gave glory to God because he knew God would keep His promise for his life.

Have you ever been in situation in your life where everything in the natural looked impossible; the door seemed closed, the bank book seemed empty and the river seemed dry? The Bible says in Habakkuk 3:17 to 18 (NIV), “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Saviour.”

Yet, I will rejoice greatly, for I am fully persuaded that my God is an awesome and a faithful God who will bring the miracle, He will bring the breakthrough, He will supply all my needs, He will rescue me and He will heal me, for He has power to do whatever He has promised to do for me, in my life.

Romans 4:19 (NIV), “Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead.” God gives life to the dead, and calls those things that are not if they were. With God all things are possible. Abraham was fully persuaded that God has the power to do what He had promised, and Abraham was strengthened in his faith, because he knew God is a promise keeper, and he gave God all glory and praise for His promise.

My friend, if God has promised you something, then hold onto His promise and be like Abraham, who did not waver but believed God had the power to do what He had promised. Bear this in mind and remember it well, the Bible says in Joshua 23:14 (NIV), “You know with all your heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the LORD your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed.” Every promise God gives, He keeps, so let your heart be strengthened and give glory to God, because your promise is on its way. God is your heavenly postman who will always deliver His good and faithful promise for your life to the letter box of your heart and the need in your house.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
