Psalm 66:8 (NIV) ~ Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard.

Just passed the old oak tree, near to the edge of the poppy field, there is field of golden barley swaying gently from side to side with the wind as it blows upon the field of gold. As the sun shines on it, the barley almost glistens, sparkling, as only gold can when the light reflects upon it. This field has a sound all of its own, a sound of thankfulness swishing in unison as a choir sways from side to side in a beautiful symphony of praise, while letting the rhyme flow through them.

Here I stand at the edge of the field of gold and listen, not just with my ears but with my heart and spirit. There it is…oh, what an awesome sound. Hush now my beating heart and listen once again to the sound of worship, join with all creation as it worships God. As the trees of the field clap their hands, as the seas resound and the fields are jubilant, and the forest sings for joy while the stones cry out, “Behold He comes!”

How can you keep quiet, how can you simply just stand there and do nothing, for within your spirit there is an overwhelming response to sing along with all creation and worship God.

The Bible says in Psalm 98:4 to 9 (NIV), “Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—shout for joy before the LORD, the King. Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; let them sing before the LORD.”

My friend, when you get up early in the morning and go out for a walk you will hear a sound of sweetest praise from the birds that sing. They sing because they’re happy and sing because they’re free, they sing because they trust in God and live to worship Him. Now it is your turn, lift your voice, let the music of the whole earth be your beat, your musical score, your heavenly song sheet, and lift your voice and sing along with all creation and worship God. Give thanks to the LORD for all the wonderful things He has done and is doing to bless you with today.

God bless you my friend, Matthew
