Micah 7:7 to 8 (NIV) ~ But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise.

God is the God who gives you a “new hope.” Though you have fallen like a champion horse running in a steeple chase, which falls at a huge barrier, or like a champion boxer who is knocked down by a stinging blow, yet you will rise again, you will rise up in His strength and keep running the race and you will keep going. You will grow everyday into the promise of a “new hope.” Though through life you may fall, you will rise again because you were born a champion, and the champion which lives within you will help you rise again.
People who go through the pain of divorce should not be treated like a broken toy, cast to one side and forgotten about. The feeling of being a failure is made worse by being discarded like an old new paper. In some quarters your treated like a second class citizen in the kingdom of God, your made to feel like damaged goods, total expendable.
The deep emotional wounds are raw and wide open, exposed to a cruel, uncaring environment. This is not the time to rub salt into the fresh wounds of a broken heart. It is not the time to turn your back on those who are knocked to the ground by the painful punch of divorce.
On the whole, divorce is painful for those who go through its flames, which burn at the very fabric of their lives, scorching their mind, their heart, and their soul.  It becomes more painful when you are told your ministry is over, and you are told to stand down and not get involved in anything within the church. You are tarred with the brush of failure from those who preach about the love, mercy, forgiveness and restoration of a compassionate God. You feel as if you have been cast out to sea, with the rope of support thrown overboard. The loneliness is dreadful and the sting of rejection bites deep into your spiritual life. Yet in all this, God is faithful! He will never give up on you. He still believes in you. You have an amazing future in God. The crushing pain of disappointment will dissolve like the snow, melted by His overwhelming love for you.
Never believe the lies of the enemy of your soul, who would whisper in your ear, “You are failure. You have blown your testimony big time. You will never minister in the church again.” God is a God of forgiveness, mercy, love and grace. He is a God of restoration. Take time to heal, take time to allow the Holy Spirit to minister, not only to the superficial wounds, but also the deep pain of a broken heart. Allow the Holy Spirit to bring you comfort and daily strength to go on. Let Jesus heal the aching, searing pain of divorce. Let Jesus Christ bring you a “new hope.” The Bible says in Job 14:7 (NIV), “At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail.” If you feel like a tree which has been cut down, then take heart, for you will grow again, you will flourish again, your new shoots will not fail. When all you have left is God, you have everything you need to start again. He can and will bring you restoration. God wants to use you for His glory.
My friend, let me assure you of this, you will make it. It may not come overnight, it may feel like a process, but you will come through it all. God has never stopped believing in you. God is a God of restoration. You are not damaged goods but you are instruments of His glory made manifest; marvelous masterpieces in the hands of an awesome God. He who is the potter will mold you into a stronger vessel for His glory. God will never let go of your hand. God will never turn His back on you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.
God will hear your cry. God will enable you to rise once more, and to grow in Him. God will cause your ministry to blossom. God will restore you as you fully trust in Him through it all. Breathe in His fresh air of the dawn of a new day for your life. You were born a champion and a champion in Christ Jesus you will always be. Believe in the promise of a “new hope” for your life. Turn the page into a new chapter full of new adventures of faith waiting for you to enjoy in God.
God bless you my friend, Matthew.
