Acts 2:43 (NIV) everyone was filled with awe.

The Amplified Bible puts it this way, “And a sense of awe (reverential fear) came upon every soul”. The people were not in awe, as if to say, “Aww that’s nice”, but it was a reverent fear of God, it is a place where you are in overwhelming wonder, adoration and respect of God. The Bible says in Exodus 15:11 (NIV) who is like you— majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders?
Something happens when you are in the presence of the lord, you feel overwhelmed in deep reverence to God, to a holy and all-powerful God, to ELOHIM ADONAI your God.

When the early believers went about telling people about Jesus, they did so with a passion, as they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and prayer, everyone was filled with awe, and many signs, wonders and miraculous signs were done. Many times in the New Testament when Jesus was ministering, the people who where eye witnesses of His power to heal, and also all the miraculous signs and wonders that Jesus did, stood in awe of God.

When you worship God from your hearts, you worship Him in awe of His love, His power and His greatness. For your God is an awesome God, who sets the captives free, who makes the broken whole, who can make a way where there seems to be no way, a God of miracles and of the impossible.

My friend, the cry of my heart to God this day is this from Habakkuk 3:2 (NIV)LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day; in our time make them known”. May more and more people be overwhelmed by the goodness of the Lord, as they were in the days of the Acts of the apostles and be all filled with awe at the glory, majesty and power of God.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
