2 Chronicles 18:30 (KJV) ~ Fight ye not with small or great, save only with the king of Israel.

The battle cry sounded the charge from the ranks of commanders and generals as the enemy set his sights, with all the might which he could muster, upon Golgotha’s hill. As they rushed from every vile pit, the front soldiers came with their arrows which they fired towards the King of Israel. So many arrows were shot from the bow of hatred, filled with the poison of sin, that they blocked out the sun.

On and on they come, these which had long been kept reserved for this battle. They come shrieking with horror from their pits, from the belly of hell itself they rumble forward. One charge after another, one greater commander after another, generals of countless armies charge forward under the cover darkness attacking the King of Israel. Time and time again, the scourge of sin is thrust upon the King of Israel, so ferocious is the battle, so intense, so hot does the flame of wrath burn that the King of Israel cries out, “I thirst.” To the enemy, it is sound which their ears have longed to hear, they take it as a sound that the King is wavering, and with one final push, they now summon their great leader to come and inflict the death blow. But just he draws near, the King of Israel looks towards the sky as the dark clouds are disappearing just as quickly as they came. Now the enemy is rushing onto his own sword, that which he thought would kill the King with, but the King has turned and used it to kill the enemy.

The King of Israel lifts up His head and cries out in a voice of triumph, “It is finished!” Where, now, is the enemy’s army? They are all defeated, their commanders and generals lie on the ground beneath the King of Israel’s feet, their weapons laid bare, their sting is gone, but on top of this crumpled heap of foes is the chief and head of them all, their leader who tried to crush the heel of the King now lies with his head crushed under the feet of the King of Israel.

Sin is destroyed, death is defeated, and the King reigns supreme over all!

My friend, the King of Israel, Jesus, fought all the forces of the armies of the devil. He defeated sin, death and hell and then the grave when He went to Golgotha’s hill to fight for you. He took upon Himself all the sin of the world, and all the punishment which brought you peace was thrust upon Him, and by His wounds you are healed. Furthermore, Jesus Christ your King has made you more than a conqueror for He fought to battle of all the ages and came to you and made His victory yours.

God bless you my friend, Matthew
