John 3:19 (NIV) ~ This is the verdict.

These words have you on the edge of your seat, holding your breath and anxiously waiting for the next sentence to be read out. It will come after two sides have gone head to head, where all the evidence is laid bare. Then, the great Advocate from above addresses the crowded courtroom of heaven itself. His voice thunders through the corridors of time as He gives the evidence from his very own lips about the Cross of Calvary, about His burial, His glorious resurrection from the dead and His ascension into heaven.

The evidence pointing to Jesus Christ being the Son of the Living God, who came into the world to save sinners, is overwhelming. The powerful, truth-changing event which shook the world is His resurrection from the dead. This overwhelming evidence demands a verdict. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is who he claims to be, and what is your response to Him?

Immediately after John 3:16 to verse 18, Jesus says these words from His very own lips, “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.”

This is the verdict: if you believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour, you will be saved.

This is the verdict: God wants all men to be saved.

This is the verdict: God is a God who heals.

This is the verdict: God is a faithful God.

This is the verdict: God is a God who supplies all your needs.

This is the verdict: God a covenant keeping God.

This is the verdict: God is God who is mighty to save.

My friend, when we read these words from Jesus Christ in John 3:19 (NIV). This is the verdict…,” we know that what is about to come next will be a life-changing declaration; a verdict which cannot be appealed. For the greatest victory that the world has ever seen, and will ever see, is Jesus Christ dying on the cross of Calvary, being buried in an empty tomb and then, three days later, rising from the dead.

This is verdict: God loves you.

He loves you much than you could ever imagine. For God so love the world that He gave his one and only Son. God paid the ransom for mankind with His Son. This is the verdict: Jesus Christ loves you so much the He gave Himself up willingly to pay the ransom as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

This is the verdict: Jesus Christ became a curse for us all, so we may by faith receive the blessing and favour of God. He did this for us all that we may live in Him.

This is the verdict: Jesus has come that we may have Life and have it more abundantly.

This is the verdict: Jesus Christ is the undefeated, undisputed champion of the world.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
