Matthew 5:15 to 16 (KJV) ~ Let your light so shine before men.

The fire of the Holy Spirit burns like a flame on the candlestick of our lives, yet, we are not consumed, because the light which burns from it is a supernatural light, which not only dispels the darkness, it also brings healing, deliverance and eternal hope. It is no ordinary light, it is the Light of Life who is Jesus Christ.

Marianne Williamson once wrote this truly inspiring poem with these words;
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually who are you not to be! You are a child of God. And your playing small does serve the world; there is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were all meant to shine as children do, we were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us, it’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Let your light shine, let is shine like the brightest star in the universe. No longer should you hold back and put your light under a bushel, but bring it out, let it shine. To not let your light shine is to deny a God-given opportunity to express His life-changing, life-building power within you. It is, in effect, closing the door of hope, of light and letting the darkness prevail.
It is a crime against the gift of God, to allow someone to stop you from letting your like shine, in order for them to feel better about themselves, because of their lack of zeal for the things of God. It is, in effect, a ploy of the enemy of souls to derail your powerful testimony, your powerful witness. It is a direct attempt of the enemy to get you to cool down your spiritual thermometer. However, we are called to be ablaze with the fire of the Holy Spirit and to shine for Jesus.

For this reason, we are called and gifted of God with His light to shine without limitation. But it is more than that, note if you will the wording, “Let your light shine.” The emphasis is put on you and me to shine, to excel, to be the best we can be at whatever God has gifted us with; let your light shine.

Liberate those around you. Take for example the story of Paul and Silas. Even though they were put in the inner cell of the prison, with their feet fastened in stocks (Acts 16:24 to 26), at midnight, they let their light shine, they held nothing back even in the midst of their circumstance. At midnight they were praying and singing praises to God. At midnight, in a dark, cold inner cell, they let their light shine. Suddenly, there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once, all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains were loosed. Let your light shine. As you do so, may God bring about a “suddenly moment” for those around you, and may all the doors to their hearts open, and their chains fall off.

My friend, let it shine like a diamond lifted up to the light of the sun. Let it shine with all the brilliance and beauty of Jesus. When you let your light shine, you bring light into a darkened world; you bring light wherever you go. Our light must be a positive one, not clouded by an inferiority complex, but bursting forth like the glorious dawn of a new day filled with the apostle Paul’s faith-inspiring language from Philippians 4:13 (NIV), “I can do all things through Him who give me strength.”

The Light of Life is within you. You face this day a life-changing choice, do you hide your light or, do you let it shine? Shine with all the beauty of heaven.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
