Exodus 17:12 (NIV) When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.

Would you allow me open up this verse of Scripture in a powerful and fresh way today? While Moses was at the top of the hill holding up his hands in prayer Joshua and the men of Israel were fighting the enemy in the valley below. As the battle below raged on, Moses held his hands up in prayer as a banner over them. The Bible goes onto say, “When Moses hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.”

Where have all the men and women of God like Aaron and Hur gone? We all need someone to help us when we are weary. We all need people like Aaron and Hur, who will come along side us and hold up our hands, and support us when we are battle weary. These men of God stood beside Moses so that his hands reminded steady.

On the 29th of May in1953 Sir Edmund Hillary, Tenzing Norgay were the first people to ever climb Mount Everest via the South Col Route. Sir Edmund Hillary said after the event, “I would never have made on my own, Tenzing helped me every step of the way.”

Who is there for you when you need someone to help you climb higher, to help with every step of your walk through life? Who is coming along side you in the heat of the battle to hold your hands in prayer for you to remind steady? Who is standing beside you in the heat of the battle to support you?

The praying was at the top of the hill and the battle was below. There is no limits to geography in the spirit realm. If there is a battle in one place and we are in another, or our friend in Christ Jesus is in the midst of a battle one hundred miles away, or even at the other side of the world. Let us hold our hands up in prayer for them as a banner over them. Let us fight for them in prayer the spiritual realm on our hill top of prayer.

Many people today face such terrible battles, some are very personal ones, some battles are against illness, some are battles against personal attacks, some are battles in the work place, and some are battles which are a lot more closer to home. There are also many spiritual battles which rage against the mind, heart and soul of a man. There is also the battles over principalities and powers of wickedness in dark places. There is the battle field of soul winning and taking the ground, advancing with the good news of Jesus Christ. Pushing back the darkness and bring the glorious light of the gospel.

However, every battle must begin in prayer, it must be soaked in prayer and prayed through until the victory is won. We must press on and pray the price of revival. The warrior first of all fights in prayer and then does the practical application of works of God while continuing to pray until the victory is won, the two must always walk hand in hand.

My friend, we all need an Aaron and a Hur on our side, people who stand with us people in prayer until the battle is won. People who support us and lift us up when we are weary, friends who will help us in our time of need, friends who will encourage us, who will stand side by side with us, because we cannot do it all on our own. We all need faithful, trustworthy Christian friends who will lift up our hands when we are weary, and support us every step of the way. True friends who will join with us to pray for the victory over the enemy, and help us in the practical application of fighting the battle.

If you cannot find someone to lift you up, someone who will stand with you, someone who will encourage you and support you. Do not be dismayed for Jesus Christ stands with you. He is the lifter of your head, He will encourage you, and He is praying for you each and every day, for the Bible says in Exodus 17:15 (NIV) The LORD is my Banner

Today, I for one also stand with you in prayer. I lift my hands up for you in prayer as a banner over you and stand with you wherever you are. Today, please know that I am praying for you, in the heat of the battle I am supporting you, and praying for you to win the victory.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
