1 Corinthians 12:31 (NIV) ~ And yet I will show you the most excellent way.

I am sure most people who read their Bible on a regular basis can quote, verbatim, 1 Corinthians 13:4 to 8, yet to live in the embodiment of it, to clothe yourself completely with the most excellent way of love, will radically change you.

The Apostle Paul had just written about spiritual gifts in the previous chapter and then, as he lifts his quill to continue, the Holy Spirit helps him pen these inspiring words from our text for today in 1 Corinthians 12:31 (NIV), “And yet I will show you the most excellent way.”

There is no sickness or disease that love cannot cure,

No war that love cannot bring peace to,

No addiction that love cannot break,

No problem that love cannot solve,

No relationship that love cannot bring hope and reconciliation to,

No pain that love cannot heal,

No stain that love will not wipe clean,

No record of wrong that love would hold on to,

No broken heart that love cannot bind up and make new,

Love never fails. His love is the most excellent way.

Within the most excellent way of love in 1 Corinthians 13:7 (NIV), the word always is used four times: it always protects, it always trusts, it always hopes, always perseveres, and then as if to crown it all off, the Bible says in verse 8 of the same chapter, love never fails. His love is always there, always healing, always helping, always protecting, always staying trustworthy and faithful, always giving hope, always persevering. His love never fails, for it is the most excellent way.

The Greek word for excellent is hyperbollo meaning all-surpassing, beyond measure, great and far outweighs them all. His love is not just an excellent way, but is it the most excellent way. It is far beyond measure, so great and it is far above all.

My friend, today take time to meditate upon this little thought and allow the Lord to show you, through the ever-living word of God, a more excellent way to live and a more excellent way to walk in victory, for His love never fails.

God bless you my friend, Matthew
