Judges 16:22 (NIV) ~ But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved .

Samson had known the anointing of God on his life, but because of sin, the anointing of God was no longer there. The enemy had imprisoned and bound him in shackles and gorged his eyes out. Then, the enemy put him in prison to push a heavy load, grinding out the grain. To add insult to this, the enemy had Samson perform for them so they could mock him. You can just imagine Samson, this once mighty man of God, now shackled, going around in circles. His head crestfallen and his heart down-trodden, praying, “Lord, please forgive me.”

Imagine if you will, the very next day, as Samson starts grinding out the grain once more with his heavy load, he stops to wipe the sweat from his brow and his hand rubs over his head. As he does so, he feels the bristles of hair beginning to grow back again. God had heard his prayer of sorrow and repentance. Each time Samson stops for water, he would touch his head and feel his hair as it grew longer.

His hair began to grow,

His heart began to beat faster,

His hope began to rise,

His spirit began to lift,

His strength began to return,

His God began to restore him.

The Lord’s anointing was restored to Samson, and in one final push he defeated the enemies of Israel.

Although your head drops down when you sin and your heart is down-trodden, and your feel you have lost your spiritual sight, as the enemy mocks you, when you pray to God in deep sorrow and repentance of heart God will free you from the shackles of sin and lift you up from the prison of despair. He is the one who lifts up of our heads. God is a God of restoration; He can open your spiritual eyes again, He will restore His anointing in your life and you will go from one victory to another. The Bible says in Acts 3:19 (NIV), “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”

My friend, God is a God hope and forgiveness. Your God is a God of restoration, and He will restore his anointing in your life for you to defeat the enemy once more. What an awesome and faithful God you have. Glory to His mighty name! Hallelujah!

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
