Romans 10:13 ( Darby Translation ) ~ For every one whosoever, who shall call on the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

On the 4th of July 2011, there was an inspiring article written in a daily newspaper called “The Para of Prayer.” It was about a Para soldier who, when he was on a mission, jumped out of the plane at 3,000 feet above the Brize Norton in Oxfordshire England, only for his parachute not to open as he raced at 100 mph towards the ground. Not being a man of prayer, but deep down believing in God, cried out to God with these words, “Please God, please God.” Before those words had left his lips his second parachute opened. Even though the Para soldier thought he was going to be smashed to pieces on the ground, by a miracle from God, he landed softly on his feet.

The first thing he did when he landed was thank God for answering his prayer. God spoke to him and said, “I am God, I am with you, don’t worry.” God had spoken these same words to him while he was serving in Iraq as some deadly shrapnel hit his Land Rover, yet he was not hurt. He has now quit the Para’s and is training for the ministry.

From all walks of life, God is answering prayers and calling people to serve Him. God is only a prayer away and He is strong to deliver and mighty to save.

My friend, wherever you are in life, cry out to Jesus. You can’t change the past, where you have been, or what you have done, but in God you have such an amazing future. Your past is wipe clean, cleansed by the precious blood of Jesus. You need not fear tomorrow because your future is in the hands of the Living God, who loves you so very, very much.

In Christ Jesus, you can have a new beginning and a new start in life. Wherever you are cry out to Jesus and hear the voice of the Lord say, “I am God, I am with you, don’t worry.” Be encouraged by the words of an old gospel song written by Bill Gaither called, “Because He Lives” with these beautiful lyrics:

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow, because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future, and life is worth the living just because He lives.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
