Proverbs 1:7 (The Message) ~ Start with God—the first step.

If at any time you decide you want to change something in your life, then the first step must always begin with God. There is an old Chinese proverb given by a wise man called Laozi who said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.” The first step to anywhere or anything begins with God.

Let me bring this one closer to home in saying this, “To have a healthier and fitter lifestyle begins with the first step.” The first step forward in a weight loss programme begins with taking the first step, and the first pound lost. Better still, is to begin with God in prayer, asking for His guidance, wisdom, strength and courage to take the first step. From that first step taken you are breaking the chains of an unhealthy life style and moving forward to a new healthier you. With every step you take you are asking God to help you not give up and achieve your goal, one step at a time.

If you want to see change in your life, then begin with God. Change in your attitude, your prayer life, your devotional time or your worship and service to God, or change in your family situation, your school, your college, your work place, your community, your city or your nation begins with your first step – and the first step is to begin with God.

Now, to give you something else to think about, if all you have left is God, then you have everything you need to begin again, to live again and move on, for the Bible says in Proverbs 1:7 (The Message), “Start with God—the first step.”

My friend, our text for today is motivating and inspiring, it brings hope, encouragement and strength, for if you ever want to see a change in your life, then as the Bible says in Proverbs 1:7 (The Message), “Start with God—the first step.”

God bless you my friend, Matthew
