Genesis 35:11 (KJV) And God said unto him, (Abraham) “I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins.”

The battle of the loins is one that not only affects this generation, but also the one after that and so on. Allow me if you will to explain it a bit more. When you give your life to Jesus, you then make a choice in the way you chose to live, it is one which is Christ centred and purposed drive for God. You then pass that way of life onto your family and the one after them, and they in turn onto the next generation after that.

I have met a number of people who said, “My mum and dad came to church, they brought me along to church as I was growing up and brought me up and taught me about Jesus and the things of the kingdom.” Listen to what the Apostle Paul says to Timothy in the book of 2 Timothy 1:5 (NIV) I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.

The Bible talks about passing things on about God, from one generation to another generation, and so on. The Bible says in Psalm 100:5 (Darby) For Jehovah is good; his loving-kindness endures for ever; and his faithfulness from generation to generation. How you live today as a Christian will affect the next generation after you. The Bible goes onto says in Acts 13:36 (NIV) David had served God’s purpose in his own generation. When you serve God in your generation you can through your faith, prayers and actions, have an affect on the generation after you. So the impact of you serving Jesus ripples onto the next generation. By your faith, your actions and God entered life style, you can have a positive affect on the future of those whom your prayers touch; who are not yet born. For example in the Bible says Psalm 78:6 to 7 (NIV) So the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands.  In the film, ‘Schindler’s list.’ Oscar Schindler made a choice; which affected the lives of 1,100 Jews. As a result not only was 1,100 saved from death, but at the end of the film, the families and the generation of those families, who were saved now totalled 6,000.

The Battle for the loins is one for your generation and those in the future generations, are in your hands; and in the hands of God. Furthermore, you can fight for your children, your children’s, children and those after them in prayer.

My friend, many a man or woman broke the mould, by coming from a non-Christian family, they then broke the tradition of living in a non-Christian back ground, and set a new standard, of a God centred way of life, which they now live in. When you make the radical life changing choice, to serve the purpose of God in your generation, you will win the battle for the loins, the battle for your generation and your future generation.

God bless you friend, Matthew.
