2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV) ~ And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

The word all is a very powerful, yet underrated word. It is an all-inclusive word with nothing left out. The word all in Hebrew is kol meaning everyone, everything, altogether and entire, and in the Greek is pas meaning whole, all things, completely with everything.

There was a song written by John and Maxi Anderson and preformed by Carol Lynn Townes from the 1984 film Breakin, called “99 ½”, with these lyrics:

99 ½ won’t do, I gotta have all of your love,

99 ½ won’t do, a part of you is just not enough.

The Bible says in Deuteronomy 6:5 (NIV), “Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” With a 99 ½ % attitude, let us read again this verse of Scripture with a twist:

Love the Lord your God with 99 ½ %

Worship the Lord your God with 99 ½ %

Serve the Lord your God with 99 ½ %.

Can you ever imagine singing the old gospel song written by J.W. Van De Venter with the same lack-lustre approach?

I surrender 99 ½ % to Jesus, 99 ½ % I freely give,

I will only love and trust him 99 ½ %

And I will spend only 99 ½ % of daily living for Him.

Does the Bible say in 1 John 1:7 (KJV) that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from only 99 ½ % of unrighteousness? No the Bible says, “ALL”.

My friend, 99 ½ % of your love is not enough, for when you hold something back from God then you’re not truly surrendered to Him. Give your all, your everything, your entire all. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, your soul and your strength. In our text for today in 2 Corinthians 9:8 (NIV), “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” God’s promise to you in this verse is emphatic, and He stresses it in four points by using the word all. 1 – All grace abound unto you.

2 – So that in all things,

3 – At all times,

4 – You will have all that you need.

God has given His all to you, should you not in return give your all to Him?

99 ½ won’t do, He’s gotta have all of your love,

99 ½ won’t do, a part of you is just not enough.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
