Esther 8:8 (NIV) ~ Seal it with the king’s signet ring.

Esther 8:8 (NIV) ~ Seal it with the king’s signet ring.

Oh, the bliss of this thought, your King has sealed your pardon with His blood. To place a seal on something in the days of Esther, they would melt some wax on a document, and then when the wax was ready, the king would press his signet ring, bearing his name, and embed it permanently on the wax. The wax would harden and the seal was set.

Philip P. Bliss, in 1875, penned this amazing truth in the words of an old gospel hymn:

Man of Sorrows! What a name, for the Son of God, who came,
Ruined sinners to reclaim. Hallelujah! What a Saviour!

Bearing shame and scoffing rude, in my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood. Hallelujah! What a Saviour!

My friend, your salvation is sealed on the cross of Calvary, His blood was the wax in which He put His mark, sealing your redemption. Oh what joy, what amazing truth there is to be found in this verse for today from Esther 8:8 (NIV) Seal it with the king’s signet ring. The King of kings and Lord of lords has sealed your pardon, your redemption, by His own blood. Your King’s name is written in red, sealed on your heart saying, “This one belongs to me,” sealed by His Name, Jesus Christ the Saviour of sinners.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
