Matthew 24:44 (NIV) ~ So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Matthew 24:44 (NIV) ~ So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Someone once said to me, “Matthew, plan ahead for tomorrow but live as if Jesus is coming back today.” The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 15:52 (NIV), “In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye.” That’s how fast it will be when we will be caught up to be with the Lord. There will be no time think about deciding to follow Jesus, for the door will be closed and, if you had not accepted Jesus Christ as your LORD and Saviour, you will be left behind.

Larry Norman once wrote the words to this powerful song called, “I Wish We’d All Been Ready”:

There’s no time to change your mind, the Son has come and you’ve been left behind,
A man and wife asleep in bed, she hears a noise and turns her head, he’s gone,
I wish we’d all been ready, two men walking up a hill,
One disappears and one’s left standing still, I wish we’d all been ready.

There was a book series a few years ago called, “Left Behind”, written Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins. For awhile, it stirred people up to think about giving their life to Jesus, and about the urgency of being saved. That urgency is now stronger today than ever before!

This world will not go on forever. One day very soon, the final trumpet call of God will sound as the Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 4:16 to 17 (NIV), For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.”

The question is, if Jesus Christ came back today, would you be ready to meet Him? Or, would you be left behind because you have made every excuse possible about not following Him? If the trumpet call from heaven was sounded RIGHT NOW, would you be caught up in the twinkling of an eye or would you be left behind? Are you ready to meet Jesus? If Jesus came back right now, what would He find you doing?

My friend, don’t be left behind, accept Jesus as you LORD and Saviour right now. If Jesus came back right now, where would you be found, still here or gone to be with Him? If you are left behind, then it will be too late, for as the song says, “There’s no time to change your mind, the Son has come and you’ve been left behind.”

Please, hear my heart as I cry out to you, I don’t want you to be left behind, saying to yourself, “I wish we had all been ready.” Please give your life to Jesus Christ today.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
