Exodus 14:22 (NIV) and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

Exodus 14:22 (NIV) and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

As little girl played with her hand crafted toy, she looked up towards the sky and smiled at the huge pillar of cloud seemed to stretched as if from heaven itself to the ground guiding them along the journey. Then at night the little girls eyes would glow as she watched the cloud turn into a pillar of fire to give all the people light so they could travel at night. But suddenly the ground began to shake beneath the little girl’s feet at Migdol where the edge of the desert meets the Red Sea. She felt the shaking of the ground and a sound like thunder, the sound of chariots charging towards God’s people who had come out of Egypt. “Father” she cried with the sound of panic in her voice, “Father, look at the cloud of dust coming towards us, it looks like the Egyptian armies are coming,” her father when he saw the chariots coming in the distance, in fear scooped his daughter up into his arms and ran away from the on coming chariots that by now the people of Israel all saw through the pillar of cloud coming over the horizon.

As the Israelites were running the screams of horror and panic was deafening, with people pushing others out of the way in a clamber to try and get to safety. As the little girl looked up towards the sky, she shouted, “Daddy, look, look daddy! The cloud is moving.” The moving cloud cast a huge shadow over the mass of people as one by one their voices stilled as it passed over them, then with a roar it touched down right in-between the advancing chariots of Pharaoh and the Israelites. The form of the cloud took on the shape of a huge angel standing in front of the people protecting them from the enemy.

“Daddy” asked the little girl,” What is Moses doing?” For there at the top a hill over looking the Red Sea Moses was standing with his back to the enemy seemingly undaunted by the frenzied noise of panic. He was focused with his eyes looking out towards the Red Sea. Moses lifted up his staff with one hand and stretched out his other over the Red Sea in front of him. Moses then spoke with power and authority and said, “Do not be afraid. Stand still and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring for you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The LORD will fight for you; you need only be still.”

Suddenly the roar of a mighty wind rushed down from heaven, as if the breath of God by the blast of His nostrils breathed upon the sea. The sound of the Red Sea being parted filled the air, as a hush of awe came over everyone of the Israelites. No longer were their eyes upon the enemy filled with fear, but their eyes were upon the Red Sea and their hearts filled with faith, as they watched the Red Sea open up wide as a wall of water pilled up on either side, up to a hundred feet tall. All night a strong east wind turned the ground into dry land, as dry a desert path.

Moses was the first to step forward, farther and deeper he walked into vast valley whose walls where made of water, yet they stood tall and solid, while the path beneath the feet of Moses was dry ground, followed by the multitudes who at first were apprehensive yet with their hearts beating with awe and excitement, they each took a step of faith and followed Moses.

The little girl held her father’s hand tightly, as she walked deeper and deeper into opening in-between the wall of water the deeper they went the darker it became, each family held a flaming torch to guide their way. As the little girl walked deeper in-between the wall of water the light from her fathers touch reflected off the water to one side of her, it enabled the little girl to see fish and sea creatures of every kind swimming on opposite sides of the wall of water. As if she was walking through a modern day aquarium. She was so close to the wall that she touched the sides of it with her finger tips, and felt the water run down her arm, yet the wall stood tall, waving gently like a water bed holding the water within it by the fabric of faith.

There were so many people walking through on dry land that it took until the last watch of the night for everyone of them to cross over. On and on they came for miles they travelled with all their animals and carts. As the little girl looked up far above the wall of water either side of her and her family all she could see was the sight of stars twinkling in the sky. “Daddy” said the little girl as she pointed to Moses, “There is Moses up at the top of the hill, standing watching over us.” Her family was one of the last ones to cross over on dry land. All at once those who were in the last family section, looked behind them and from a distance could hear the sound of the chariots of the armies of Pharaoh King of Egypt charging towards them, six hundred of the best of the elite of Pharaoh’s chariots plus all the other chariots and officers with them rushed into valley of dry land, with their swords waving in anger, shouting their war cries at the top of their voices, craving blood. Even as they charged after the Israelites God threw them into confusion in the midst of the darkness that the walls of water had created, some of them could go no farther as the wheels of their chariots had come off. Suddenly in panic many of the Israelites who were still to cross began to run onto the embankment which led to the hill top where Moses was standing. By this time every vantage spot on the hilltop was taken for miles around. The little girl hid behind her daddy as if clinging to him for protection in an instinctive way, but keep peeking around his leg to see what was going to happen. Moses was only about ten feet away, then as the last Israelite person crossed over and was safely on the other side, Moses stretched out his hand over the sea at the breaking of anew day.

There was total silence as the people of God watched in awe, as the new day broke the walls of water began to fall in and crashed on the dry ground beneath it. From either side where the Israelites had entered in to and where they come out, there was no escape for those from Pharaohs army who charged into the valley of the wall of water after them, as the water smashed down and filled the valley through which God’s people had walked upon. The sound of the waters falling onto the dry land was like the sound of a great deluge of water falling from the highest cliff top and crashing on the rocks below, ten thousands upon ten thousands of gallons of waters rushing over and falling with an astonishing force upon the ground beneath it. All those who had entered from Pharaoh’s army was crushed and drowned in an instant. It took but a few moments for the Red Sea to fill the valley that God created of dry land. After the Sea had drew back from the shore it left the remains of smashed chariots and many of the Egyptians lying dead, a defeated army, broken and beaten, crushed under the feet of the Israelites.

When all the Israelites saw the great power of the LORD displayed against the Egyptians, the people feared the LORD and put their trust in Him and in His servant Moses. Then the little girl with her family with all the Israelites danced with joy and celebrated before the LORD.

My friend, when you feel that the enemy is pursuing you with all the chariots of hell, you need only stand still and trust in God’s deliverance, for He is strong to deliver and mighty to save. God will make a way where there seems to be no way, so lift up your hands and speak in faith the powerful words of the LORD. God will bring the breakthrough, He will bring you a miracle and your heart will be filled with faith as you walk over on dry land. Lift up your hands in prayer and see the salvation of the Lord, as you rise up and conquer all and walk from one victory unto to another. Furthermore, those devils that have been trying to intimidate you and hold you back from stepping into His blessings and attempt to try and stop you from crossing over into the promises of God will flee in Jesus’ name. As you stand strong is His name you will see your enemy crushed beneath your feet a defeated foe. God is your God of the breakthrough, your God is faithful God who can make a way where there seems to be no way. He will open the way before you so you can walk on in victory on dry ground and get to the other side. From there you will look back and begin to rejoice at His miracle working power over your life and celebrate before the LORD like a little child. For God will showed Himself strong on your behalf because He loves you.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
