Jeremiah 18:4 (NIV) ~ But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

Jeremiah 18:4 (NIV) ~ But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.

“Marred in his hands”; each and every one of us was marred by sin, we were a vessel, a pot, broken by the effects of sin, shattered by the hammer of the devil and his deceitful ways. There was no beauty in our spiritual form, we were marred. Yet, in His great love for us, the Master Potter took our broken lives and formed us into a vessel of honour, worthy to be shaped in to something beautiful, as seemed best to Him.

It was at the Potter’s House that you became clay in His hands, clay with a pliable heart, touched by the Master’s hand. It was there at the Potter’s House that God picked you up from the mire and began shaping you for His glory, and He who began a good work will bring it to completion. In His hand is the best place to be, with a heart of flesh instead of a hard of stone, for nothing can be made with a piece of stone that is set, you have to come to Him with a heart which is ready to be moulded and shaped into what seems best for your life. You have to be willing to allow the Master Potter to take you, mould you and use you for His glory.

So many times you cry out to God, “Make me like this, or make me like that; I want to be like this, I want to be shaped in this fashion.” But the Bible says in Isaiah 64:8 (NIV), “Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.” God knows how to shape you into what is best for your life. As you come willingly, yield your life to His will. Come to God afresh, every second of the day, for you are a work in progress, and here is the amazing truth: even while God is still working on you, and shaping you every day, just as you are right now, you are a vessel, a temple of the Holy Spirit, filled with the fire and power of God. Always stay freshly watered by the word of God, with your heart willing to be moulded into what seems best for your life.

My friend, as clay in His hands, allow the Master Potter to shape you into a vessel of honour for His glory, let Him shape you as seems best to Him for your life. His best for your life is better than you could ever begin to imagine, for no eye has seen, nor ear heard, what God has planned for those who love him, for those who are willing to say to the Master Potter, “Take me, mould me, use me and fill me for your glory.”

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
