Psalm 23:5 (NIV) You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Psalm 23:5 (NIV) You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

This verse of Scripture naturally falls into a three very powerful words from God for your life today.

1 – You.

The most important word in this sentence begins with “You”. Without Jesus you will never grow, or have the Oil poured over you. He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega. It from Jesus Christ that you draw strength, and it is from Jesus, that you are blessed. He is the Rose of Sharon, the aroma like no other. He is the Author of your Salvation. He is your LORD, your King, He is your everything.

2 – You anoint my head with oil.

Oil is poured from above to anoint the head. The healing Balm of Gilead can minister to your mind, your thoughts and your memories. It then flows down upon your body and then your heart, bringing healing and wholeness. Jesus is the Head of the church and healing flows from the Head onto the body.

When your head is anointed with oil you can feel the soothing calm that it brings over your head, and as it pours down onto your body, there is a great sense of peace that rests upon you. The Oil of the Holy Spirit brings healing, peace, restoration and power.

3 – My cup over flows.

God, who is rich in mercy, grace and love, wants to pour goodness into your life. Not just a little, not just enough for you to get by on, but more than enough. His desire is for your cup to overflow with His grace, overflow with His mercy, and overflow with His love so that those who are around you will be touched by the overflow of Jesus pouring out of you in abundance. Pouring out onto a dry and thirsty land are the waters of Life from your cup, your earthen vessels that overflows with God.

My friend, even though we have just dipped our toes into our text for today from Psalm 23:5 (NIV), “You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows”, let His words for your life today uplift you and bless you with all that you need to live a victorious day, anointed with His Oil and overflowing with His power.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
