Philippians 1:5 (NIV) ~ “…Because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”

Philippians 1:5 (NIV) ~ “…Because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.”

The Greek word for partnership is the same Greek word for fellowship, it is the word kiononia meaning fellowship, the close association between persons, sharing and in partnership. The Greek word kiononia is closely flowed by the word kiononos meaning partner, participant, and one who joins in with another in business or ministry, also one who is with you side by side.

Never fear, for you have a partner in Christ Jesus:

You have a partner in your family,

You have a partner in your business,

You have a partner in the ministry,

You have a partner, who will never leave you nor forsake you,

You have a partner, who will stand with you side-by-side,

You have a partner who will fight for you and go in and bat for you.

To be partners together in the gospel means we all should share the same goal that is, the saving of souls and making disciples of all nations and seeing the Kingdom of God manifest in all its glory here on earth. The Apostle Paul, when he wrote to the church at Philippi, spoke to them by using the strong word “partnership,” inspired by the Holy Spirit, so everyone could grasp the importance of working together in Christ Jesus. It is still speaking to you today, for you to be in partnership in the gospel and sharing the gospel.

My friend, today can you hear the word of the Lord speaking to you from our text in Philippians 1:5 (NIV), “…Because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now”? Because of your partnership and working together hand-in-hand, not only with each other, but more importantly with Christ Jesus as the gospel is growing all over the world, let us therefore work in close fellowship with each other, in a Holy Spirit inspired revelation of a the meaning of kiononia, of partnership in sharing our faith, participating and getting involved in the ministry for the end-time harvest of souls.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
