2 Kings 22:1 (NIV) ~ Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years.

Josiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. In the eighteenth year of Josiah being a king, the Book of the Law was found, and Josiah made a quality decision to obey all that was written in it. He smashed down the altars of the enemy (the pagan gods) and followed the true and living God. Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the Lord as he did-with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength.

God had called Josiah to reign as a king from the age of eight years old. It was God who appointed him to be a king from a very early age. If God has called a young person to a particular gifting, then who are we to shrug off the opportunity to help that person develop in the gifting of God in their lives?

There is whole generation of young people who can be reached through young people who reign in life through Christ Jesus, and there are godly men and woman who will hear the Spirit of the Lord whisper in their hearts, “Help them develop, release them, give them opportunities to grow and build them up in the most holy faith.”

Josiah was only eight years old when he became king and he turned to God with all his heart, soul and strength. Whether you are eight years old or eighty years old give your life to Jesus, turn to him with all your heart and soul. Smash down any altars that stand between you and the Lord, and prevent you from knowing more of God and serving Him with all your heart.

My friend, Josiah changed a nation by turning to God with all his heart. Now imagine what God will do with you as you turn to follow Jesus Christ with all your heart and soul. He wants you to reign in life as a king and priest unto God most high and to move and function in His royal authority. He wants you to study and follow His Word, the Bible, and apply it to your everyday life. He wants you to be filled with Holy Spirit to move in power in His name. So, whatever age you may be when you give your life to Jesus, rise up and reign in life, and you will see a change in your own life, your family, your community and your nation for God.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
