2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV) ~ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV) ~ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.

The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:3 (NIV), “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.”

The world may wage war with bullets, bombs, chemical and biological toxic gasses.

Yet we do not wage war as the world does.

The world may wage war with propaganda, warmongering and scare tactics.

Yet we do not wage war as the world does.

The world may use nuclear warheads and laser-guided missiles.

Yet we do not wage war as the world does.

The world may even go as far as ethnic systematic genocide.

Yet we do not wage war as the world does.

The weapons we fight with are not of this world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds, to topple thrones and bring down kingdoms. Or, as the King James Version of the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 10:4, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” Once more, the Bible says in Ephesians 6:12 (NIV), “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Just as Daniel prayed for the an answer to prayer, so there began an almighty fight in the heavenly realms, so much so that an angel of God said to Daniel  in chapter 10 verses 12 to 13, “…‘Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.’”

There are spiritual principalities over cities which, by prayer and spiritual warfare, can be brought down in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. God calls us to first bind up the strong man, and then we can plunder his house. We use the keys of the kingdom and our heavenly authority in Christ Jesus to bind the strong man, and to fight against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. We fight against them with the weapons of the Word of God and prayer. Our war, our battle, is in the heavenly realms over controlling spirits, demons and wicked forces at work over towns, cities and behind certain people who have become puppets, whose strings are pulled by the enemy of souls.

At times, God calls us to prayer and fasting, to discipline ourselves to seek His face, to do His will and to fight in the heavenly realms with the heavenly weapons which are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds and seeing righteousness being restored. As we rise up and wage war in the heavenly realms, the angels of God will come to our aid, just as in the time of Daniel, and they will fight for us in the heavenlies, for the glory of God.

My friend, our fight is not against the flesh, nor is it against each other, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. They are all defeated through strong men and women of God who are prepared to wrestle in prayer, in the power of the Holy Spirit, who tear down strongholds to crushed the enemy under their feet and win the battle of the heavenly realms.

Every revival of God began with prayer, with the word of God and people who were willing to pay the price on their knees. Let us rise up this day and make war in the heavenly realms in spiritual warfare! The Battle of Britain was won, first of all, in the air. When you gain the victory in the air, when the supremacy is won in the battle field of the air, then victory on the ground will be yours to gain.

It is time to gird up your amour ye sons of Zion,

Gird up your amour, let’s go to war,

We’ll win the battle with great rejoicing,

And so we’ll praise Him more and more.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
