Ezekiel 22:30 (NIV) “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.

Ezekiel 22:30 (NIV) “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.

God is not looking for new methods or programmes; God is looking for someone to stand in the gap. One person can make a difference.

The question is who will take up this challenge ? Who cares enough for the land to stand in that gap, for the lost.

It is time to pull our socks up, and rise up and be counted for the Kingdom of God.

While I am not an advocate of the lyrics of the America rapper ’Eminem‘. However, there is written within one of his songs this question. “Will the real slim shady please stand up.”

It got me thinking, maybe just maybe the world is watching and waiting, and asking in this climate of falsehood and impostors in the pulpit, “will the real man of God to please stand up.” The Bible puts this question to each and everyone of us from Psalm 94:16 (KJV) Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

There is power in prayer.

Mary Queen of Scots once said, “I fear the prayers of John Knox, more than the armies of France”.

When two Salvation army workers, who were assigned to an area to evangelise, found no success. In their frustration they wrote to General Booth. He wrote back with only two words, ” Try tears”. That was the key that opened the door for souls to be saved.

The Bible says in Psalm 126: 5 to 6 (NIV) ”Those who sow in tears, will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping carrying seeds to sow, will return with songs of joy. They stood in that gap for the lost, and God rewarded their faith and their heart felt tears for the lost.

The Bible says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) ”If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land “.
Also in Acts 3:19 (NIV) ” Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord “.

The onus is on the real man of God to stand up and be counted. To take the initiative and lead by example.

This land in which we live in, is our land. The problems that pollutes it affects us. God is calling his people to prayer on behave of the land. Because if we don’t pray for the land who will? If we don’t get on our knees in deep repentance before a Holy God, for our land who will? If we don’t take a stand for the gospel, then who will?

Revival does not just happen, its starts with every child of God standing in that gap for the land. Taking the time to pray, to humble ourselves, to cry out in tears to the Lord for souls to be saved.

My friend, may I ask you something?

When was the last time you prayed for the lost with tear?

When was the last time you prayed in tears for your family members to come to Jesus?

When was the last time we told someone about the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ?Because you love them so much that you don’t want them to go to a lost eternity.

God is looking for a man to stand in the gap for the land. May everyone one of us take up that challenge and stand in that gap. To stand in the gap for God to heal our land and bring a much needed revival. To bring a renewed obedience to the things of God.

Let us come to a Holy God in pray and let us call upon his name, in deep repentance and in tears for our land. For us to ask God, by the convicting power of the Holy Spirit to move in peoples hearts.
God says in Zechariah 4:6 (NIV) ” Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty”.

Let us therefore stand in that gap for our land, and see the awesome power of God move by his Holy Spirit on our land, to bring a much needed revival.

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
