John 3:14 to 15 (NIV), “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”

John 3:14 to 15 (NIV), “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”

In Numbers 21:7-9, it says, “The people came to Moses and said, ‘We sinned when we spoke against the LORD and against you. Pray that the LORD will take the snakes away from us.’ So Moses prayed for the people. The LORD said to Moses, ‘Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.’  So Moses made a bronze snake and put it up on a pole. Then when anyone was bitten by a snake and looked at the bronze snake, he lived.”

It is very interesting that the symbol for healing and medicine is that of a snake wrapped around a staff. A mirror image of the staff that Moses held up for the people to look at, and then be healed.   All that the people were asked to do, was “look and live.” But this took faith.

My friend, our text for today says in John 3:14 to 15 (NIV), “Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”

So we must lift up Jesus Christ, look to Him in faith and live! Look to Jesus Christ for your healing, for your deliverance, for your freedom from the venomous bite of the enemy. Look to Jesus and live!

On the cross of Calvary on top of Golgotha ’s hill, Jesus Christ was lifted up for all the world to see. Look to Jesus and live! Look to the cross of Calvary , and by faith receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Look to Jesus and live!

God bless you my friend, Matthew.
